GOGLA is seeking an Executive Director

The Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) is seeking an Executive Director to head the organization in its role of industry advocate for off-grid lighting solutions that benefit businesses and end users in developing markets. A proven leader, the chosen candidate will work in close partnership with diverse stakeholders including the private sector, civil society and governmental organizations. 


Position Expectation and Description

The Executive Director of the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association will be responsible for building on the foundation set by the GOGLA founding team and the efforts of the World Bank and IFC's Lighting Africa project to be the industry advocate for off-grid lighting solutions that benefit society and businesses in developing markets. In the interim period while GOGLA is in its infancy, there will be close collaboration and partnership to stakeholders like IFC and World Bank for both funding and resource sharing, but the goal over the next five years is to build an independently funded and industry-driven organization that is representative of all the major stakeholders in the industry. 

The Executive Director will need to be a strong leader to be able to achieve this goal. This will need to be done in close partnership with a variety of diverse stakeholders ranging from multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises, non-profits, and governmental organizations.

Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) has been established to act as the industry advocate with a focus on small and medium enterprises. It is a neutral, independent, not-for-profit association created to promote lighting solutions that benefit society and businesses in developing and emerging markets. GOGLA will support industry in the market penetration of clean, quality alternative lighting systems.
